Cal Water King City district customers not impacted by nitrate levels in groundwater

California Water Service (Cal Water) does not have elevated levels of nitrate in water supplied to its customers, the utility confirmed after a recent community meeting informed attendees that some Salinas Valley residents should not drink their water due to the nitrate levels.

Former police chief talks cannabis compliance

Former Salinas police chief turned cannabis compliance officer, Kelly McMillin recently spoke to South County organizations and law enforcement about cannabis manufacturing and distribution for the Indus Holding Company.

FAIR KICKOFF

More than 500 supporters attended the annual Salinas Valley Fair kickoff dinner, dance and auction fundraiser Saturday in King City, raising funds for the Fair and the Salinas Valley Fair Heritage Foundation, both nonprofits.

Fire destroys ranch house

A ranch house was completely destroyed in a fire last Thursday in the Jolon and San Lucas roads area south of King City, displacing the home’s family who lost everything.

Feeding frenzy
