KING CITY — A 23-year-old King City man was found dead from a gunshot wound Sunday afternoon near the railroad tracks by the former Meyer Tomatoes facility.

According to the King City Police Department, officers responded to the report of a body seen lying near the tracks in the 100 block of N. First Street at the rear of the Meyer building at about 2:10 p.m. on Aug. 20.

“Upon arrival they located a deceased male who had died as a result of a gunshot wound,” police said in a news release. “The motive for the homicide is unknown at this time.”

The victim was identified as Juan Carlos Reyes, 23, of King City.

Police said the investigation is continuing. No further details have been released at this time.
