KING CITY ā Monterey County Sheriffās Office and King City Police Department investigators announced Thursday that they have developed information connecting the deadly mass shooting in King City and the double homicide near Soledad.
On March 3, 11 residents were shot during a mass shooting at a birthday party on the 200 block of Second Street in King City. Seven were injured and four were killed. On Feb. 4, two cousins were shot and killed during a double homicide that occurred on Los Coches Road, just outside of Soledad.
As part of the ongoing investigation, more than 50 search warrants have been served.
Because of this work, on the morning of April 18, agencies from King City Police, Monterey County Sheriffās Office and other allies served additional search warrants on the 200 block of Sixth Street and 3000 block of 11th Street in Greenfield.
āThere have been several ancillary arrests related to these crimes as investigators work towards solving these murders,ā according to the Sheriffās Office in a news release. āSeveral persons of interest have been generated and all leads are being investigated.ā
In addition, the Sheriffās Office confirmed the suspects in this case have gang connections, but they stressed that the victims are all innocent.
āThe publicās help has been instrumental in making these connections,ā the Sheriffās Office stated. āFurther details cannot be released at this time as this investigation is ongoing.ā
