KING CITY — Monterey County Sheriff’s Office and King City Police Department investigators announced Thursday that they have developed information connecting the deadly mass shooting in King City and the double homicide near Soledad.

On March 3, 11 residents were shot during a mass shooting at a birthday party on the 200 block of Second Street in King City. Seven were injured and four were killed. On Feb. 4, two cousins were shot and killed during a double homicide that occurred on Los Coches Road, just outside of Soledad.

As part of the ongoing investigation, more than 50 search warrants have been served.

Because of this work, on the morning of April 18, agencies from King City Police, Monterey County Sheriff’s Office and other allies served additional search warrants on the 200 block of Sixth Street and 3000 block of 11th Street in Greenfield.

“There have been several ancillary arrests related to these crimes as investigators work towards solving these murders,” according to the Sheriff’s Office in a news release. “Several persons of interest have been generated and all leads are being investigated.”

In addition, the Sheriff’s Office confirmed the suspects in this case have gang connections, but they stressed that the victims are all innocent.

“The public’s help has been instrumental in making these connections,” the Sheriff’s Office stated. “Further details cannot be released at this time as this investigation is ongoing.”

Anyone with additional information that may be related to the ongoing investigation is encouraged to contact Monterey County Detective Arras Wilson at 831-759-7203, King City Sgt. Joshue Partida at 831-537-8415 or Detective Sgt. Nicholas Kennedy at 831-755-3773 of the Monterey County Sheriff’s Violent Crimes Unit.
