GREENFIELD — The Greenfield JV baseball team outscored Gonzales High 29-10 in two games to claim the season series against the Spartan JV’s.

Greenfield received solid pitching outings from Jesus Soto and Agustin Pantoja in the first game, and from Andrew Trujillo in the second game.

At the March 28 game in Gonzales, the Bruins led 8-0 at the top of the fifth before the Spartans were able to get on the scoreboard. Greenfield finished the game with two runs in the sixth and eight runs in the seventh to win by an 18-4 score. Greenfield had 14 hits and 12 runs batted in and left eight runners on base. Jesus Soto earned the win on the mound with help from Pantoja.

In the second game on Friday at Greenfield, the Bruins trailed 5-0 before staging a rally and winning by an 18-6 tally. Andrew Trujillo earned the pitching win, allowing six runs and striking out three. The Bruins produced 15 hits in the game. Michael Madera had two hits and two RBIs for the Spartans.
