SALINAS VALLEY — Salinas Valley Solid Waste Authority will be hosting a tire recycling event from Oct. 15 through Nov. 12. Residents can dispose of their used tires (limit of nine per trip) for free at the three local facilities: Recycling and HHW Facility, 1104 Madison Lane, Salinas; Johnson Canyon Landfill, 31400 Johnson Canyon Road, Gonzales; and Jolon Road Transfer Station, 52654 Jolon Road, King City. ART EXHIBIT

SOLEDAD — AP students at Soledad High School are creating an art installation as a tribute to Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huerta and farmworkers as “Seen,” and an essential and vital part of society. WALKING MOAI

KING CITY — The community is invited to join Blue Zones Project and Monterey County Agricultural and Rural Life Museum for a fun 10-week Walking Moai, beginning Oct. 20 and continuing every Thursday through Dec. 15 from 2:30 to 3 p.m. The 1-mile walk will start at MCARLM’s main building, located inside San Lorenzo Park at 1160 Broadway St. in King City, and continue around the property, learning about the museum and BZP’s Power 9 initiative.
