Catherine Alinda Ekert Burnett entered eternal rest on April 2, 2019, in Portland, Oregon, following a brief illness.

Catherine was born in Salinas to Frank and Grace Ekert, long time residents of Clark Colony/Greenfield. The Ekerts owned a store with attached gas station and motor court (motel) for many years and were members of the Methodist church in Greenfield.

Catherine graduated from King City High school in 1941. She and her close friend Ellen Morgantini Brown worked at the store and gas station during the war years and remained friends all their life. Her ties to Greenfield were close and fond. She married Curtis Burnett in 1946 and they relocated to Arizona and later to southern California where she resided until 2013, when she moved to Oregon to be near her daughter.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Grace Ekert, her brother Roderick A. Ekert, her husband Curtis Burnett, and an infant daughter, Mary. She is survived by her son, Timothy Burnett, daughter Karen (Robert) Sesnon, grandchildren Kristopher (Sarah) Carlsson, Jennie Dean, Chelsea (Adam) Krakowski, Haley (Cole) Johnson and 3 great-grandchildren.

Inurnment of ashes will take place at Oaks Park Cemetery later this spring.
