SOUTH COUNTY — Salinas Valley Fair welcomed autumn last weekend with its second annual Fall Festival and Carnival at the fairgrounds in King City, featuring carnival rides and games, a hay maze, puppet shows, blacksmith demonstrations, farm-themed play areas, live entertainment and local vendors.

The three-day family event opened last Friday, Sept. 20, and continued through the weekend, during which a portion of the proceeds went toward local schools and nonprofit organizations.
