KING CITY — A paving project on Highway 101 between King City and Greenfield will continue this week with long-term lane closures and intermittent ramp closures, according to Caltrans.

Northbound Highway 101 will be reduced to one lane beginning about two miles north of Jolon Road to just south of Central Avenue. The lane reduction is scheduled to begin Wednesday, April 29, and is expected to remain in place through July.

Caltrans said construction crews will work weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and overnight from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The project includes grinding and paving about eight miles of northbound and southbound Highway 101, from the Jolon Road undercrossing near King City to just north of Lagomarsino Avenue near Greenfield.

Caltrans added that the on- and off-ramps at Jolon Road will be intermittently closed in both directions of Highway 101 while paving work takes place in the area.

Electronic message boards and directional signs will be posted to alert motorists in advance of traffic controls.

“Please allow for extra time for your travels through the area,” stated Caltrans.

The $19 million project is being completed by Granite Construction of Arroyo Grande. Construction is expected to continue through summer 2028.
