BRADLEY — Lake San Antonio’s South Shore will close April 30 through May 3 for the annual Wildflower Experience, a three-day event combining a triathlon and festival featuring live music, beer and wine gardens, and race clinics.
Often referred to as “the Woodstock of Triathlons,” the event draws an estimated 6,000 participants, spectators, volunteers and staff. It includes swimming, cycling and running competitions across the lake area and surrounding roadways.
South Shore will be closed to the public during the event, while North Shore will remain open. Boat launching will be allowed at North Shore, but water access in designated swim areas will be restricted Saturday and Sunday mornings from about 8 a.m. to noon during race segments.
Cycling and running portions will take place on roads around the lake and nearby public routes. California Highway Patrol and Monterey County Sheriff’s Office will conduct rolling closures during race times.
