Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6747 of King City led the annual Memorial Day ceremony Monday, with help from Fort Hunter Liggett staff and Mayor Mike LeBarre, to honor those who have died while serving in the U.S. military.

A gesture of Goodwill

Donations poured in last week during the Goodwill Donation Drive hosted by the Community Food Pantry of King City, which earned $3,900 from the fundraiser to support its food distribution program for local residents in need.

Schools to gain on-campus officer

The City Council of King has approved a memorandum of understanding with County of Monterey, South Monterey County Joint Union High School and King City Union School District to hire a campus-based probation officer.
