King City hosts ‘cooling center’ this weekend
Due to excessive heat conditions predicted for the next two days, the City of King will be sponsoring a “cooling center” to provide relief for residents impacted by the hot weather.

Kevin Roberts, a fourth-grade teacher at Santa Lucia Elementary School, recently brought lunar samples taken from the Apollo moon missions to the King City school, providing students with a rare chance to view moon rocks and soils up close.
King City selected as host city for Amgen Tour
For the first time, King City has been selected as a host city for the May 15 stage race start of the 2018 Amgen Tour of California, an annual professional cycling event featuring the world’s best cyclists competing along a course that traverses hundreds of miles of the state’s roadways.
