KING CITY — South Monterey County Task Force served five search warrants in King City early Wednesday morning that resulted in the arrests of four local gang members for weapons-related charges, including the manufacturing of ghost guns.
The Task Force, which includes the Soledad and Greenfield police departments, Homeland Security Investigations and the Drug Enforcement Administration, conducted the search warrants at 5 a.m. on May 4 at three residences and two businesses in King City.
Salinas Police Department’s SWAT Team and the King City Police Department assisted in the operation.
“This operation is in response to our continued efforts to decrease gun and gang violence in South Monterey County and continue to remove illegal firearms from our communities,” police said in a news release.
During the service of the search warrants, Angel “Spanky” Quinones, 30, a known Sureno gang member, and three juveniles, also known Sureno gang members, were arrested on multiple weapons violations. All four are residents of King City.
“The investigation is ongoing, and further operations and arrests are expected,” police said.
