OPIOID INFORMATION

SOLEDAD — While the Soledad Police Department works to get information out about the dangers of opioid addiction, the city is working on a virtual town hall, planned for Monday, Oct. 26, at 6 p.m. The event will discuss the opioid epidemic with local doctors. More information on how to join will be forthcoming.


NEW VOLUNTEERS

SOLEDAD — Soledad Police Department announced Jose Cisneros as its new volunteer coordinator on Oct. 7. Cisneros is a retired police officer from the Gonzales Police Department and also works with CASA of Monterey County. He will now donate his time in helping SPD get a volunteer program up and running.


HALLOWEEN MOVIES

GONZALES — Gonzales Recreation Department will host a Haunted Halloween Cinema, showing two movies in a drive-in format at Central Park on Halloween night, Oct. 31. Free treats will be provided to those who join. Everyone must stay within their vehicles and wear a face covering. Costumes are encouraged. Cars can start parking at 5:30 and 8 p.m. to watch “Hocus Pocus” at 6 p.m. and “Corpse Bride” at 8:30 p.m., respectively.
