VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

SALINAS VALLEY — Drive-through assistance is needed for Food Bank of Monterey County’s distributions in South Monterey County. Volunteers are needed for traffic control and tagging cars in Soledad on Mondays, Greenfield on Tuesdays and King City on Wednesdays. OPEN PLAYGROUNDS

GONZALES — Meyer Park and Central Park play structures open Nov. 4, as announced by the City of Gonzales earlier this week. Face masks will be required at all times and the city asks all who go to the play structures keep a distance of six feet between each other.


VETERAN AWARDS

MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Military and Veteran Affairs Advisory Commission recognizes veterans from each district annually with the Monterey County Veteran of the Year Award. This year, the awards will be given to honorees in the Monterey County Board of Supervisors Chambers but streamed online via Zoom for friends, family and supporters.
