TREE REMOVAL

GONZALES — City of Gonzales has begun the process of removing trees that are located off Fifth Street and Gabilan Court, where the future Community Center Complex will be. The contractor will use the parking lot during their work, which started Nov. 1 and will continue through Dec. 9. Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly, as the parking lot will be closed during that time frame. The trees will be replaced as part of the landscaping work in a subsequent contract when Phase 1 of the Community Center Complex is constructed.


LISTENING SESSION

GREENFIELD — Monterey County Supervisor Chris Lopez and City Manager Paul Wood are hosting a community listening session on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 599 El Camino Real, in Greenfield. Residents are invited to share their thoughts and concerns about the community, city and county government.


COFFEE WITH A COP

KING CITY — King City Police Department will host Coffee with a Cop on Thursday, Nov. 3, from 8 to 10 a.m., at La Plaza Bakery, 111 Broadway St., in King City. The event is an opportunity for residents to meet with local officers and enjoy free coffee, while supplies last.

KING CITY — King City’s next SOCOS Social (SOuth COunty Seniors Social) featuring a free lunch, entertainment and access to senior resources is set for Thursday, Nov. 3, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the King City Recreation Center, 401 Division St. Seniors age 60 and older who live in King City or the surrounding communities are invited to attend the social, presented by Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley.
