KING CITY — Two walking tours of the King City Cemetery are planned for November in connection to All Souls’ Day and Veterans Day.

The tours will be conducted by local historians John and Karen Jernigan. Tours are free of charge, but reservations are recommended.

The tours last a little more than an hour and tell the story of King City through the lives of the people who made the King City Cemetery their final resting place.

The Wednesday, Nov. 2, event is scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m., just ahead of a mass for All Souls’ Day conducted at the cemetery by Father Rodriquez of St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church beginning at 4 p.m.

The Friday, Nov. 11, event on Veterans Day will focus on those who have served our country in the U.S. military.

To reserve a spot on a tour, call the Jernigans at 831-385-6112 or text 831-594-3740 or email [email protected].

Times for the tour may vary depending on the weather. In case of rain, the tours will be postponed. Participants are encouraged to wear sturdy shoes, as the area around graves can be uneven.
