VETERANS BBQ

KING CITY — King City VFW will host its annual Veterans Day BBQ on Friday, Nov. 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at 599 Bitterwater Road in King City. This is a drive-through, tri-tip meal with all the trimmings, including meat, beans, salad and roll. Tickets can be purchased from any VFW member or at Kasey’s Fitness, Scotty’s Pine Canyon Store, Verdun’s Hair Salon and Ace Hardware in King City.


HEALTHY CHOICES

KING CITY — Community members can meet the local Blue Zones Project team while learning about the work they are doing together to impact residents’ life radius through “People, Places and Policy” on Thursday, Nov. 10. The team would like to hear about what is important to the community and how they can partner and work together to make healthy choices easier for all. GIVING BLOOD

SALINAS VALLEY — This November, nonprofit blood services provider Vitalant is urging all eligible donors to schedule a blood donation to help ensure all patients have blood available to them in their time of need. All blood types are needed. Upcoming blood donation opportunities include the following: Friday, Nov. 11, King City, 401 Division St., 1 to 5 p.m.; Saturday, Nov. 12, Salinas, Weather Tech Raceway Laguna Seca, 12 to 4 p.m.; Monday, Nov. 14, Salinas, Salinas Community School, 615 Leslie Drive, 1 to 5 p.m.; Monday, Nov. 28, Soledad, Soledad High School, 425 Gabilan Drive, 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.; and Tuesday, Nov. 29, Salinas, Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, 450 E.
