BIKE REPAIR

GREENFIELD — Greenfield Community Science Workshop will host a Bike Repair Workshop offering free tune-up and repair services on Friday, March 8. The workshop will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Greenfield CSW, 45 El Camino Real, in Greenfield. Donations of used bikes will also be accepted at the event. In addition, there will be bikes available to fix and take for those without one. For more information, call 831-233-8335.


STATE OF TWO CITIES

KING CITY — Southern Monterey County Republican Women Federated will host its monthly luncheon meeting on Tuesday, March 12, at 11:30 a.m. at King Kora Restaurant, 611 Canal St., in King City. Guest speakers will be King City Mayor Mike LeBarre and Greenfield Mayor Robert “Bob” White. The subject will be “State of Two Cities,” during which they will review the past year in King City and Greenfield and what the plans are for the future. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting. MONSTER JAM

SALINAS — The Monster Jam is roaring back into the Salinas Sports Complex on Sunday, May 5, and tickets went on sale to the public on March 5. Gates will open at 10 a.m. and the show will start at 2 p.m. Festivities will include a pit party from 10 a.m. to noon; a separate pit party pass must be purchased. “Last year was the first time we had a pit party the morning of the show, and we had a great turnout. Bring your family early and enjoy food from one of our vendors while you wait for the 2 p.m. show to start. Be sure to purchase both a pit party pass and show ticket for entry into the pit party,” said Sam Jenkinson, chairman of the California Rodeo’s Monster Jam Committee. The truck line-up includes Grave Digger driven by Krysten Anderson; El Toro Loco driven by Armando Castro; Dragon driven by Coty Saucier; Megalodon driven by Angelina Nock; Wild Side driven by Zack Garner; Rammunition driven by Kurt Kraehmer; Over Bored driven by Chad Tingler; and Raminator driven by Mark Hall.
