KING CITY — Community members gathered Monday morning for the annual Memorial Day ceremony at King City Cemetery with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6747 and Fort Hunter Liggett staff to honor those who have died while serving in the U.S. military.

The May 28 program featured the announcement of Bruce Peters as the local VFW Veteran of the Year and the presentation of wreaths created by local service groups.

A barbecue at the VFW Hall followed the ceremony.
