KING CITY — King City Police Department is investigating a pair of shootings that took place over the weekend, one of which may possibly be gang related that struck two vehicles and a house.
At about 5:07 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22, officers received a report regarding gunshots being fired from a vehicle in the 300 block of Seventh Street that hit the side of a residence. While en route, they were also notified of shots being fired in the 600 block of Luckett Street, where they found two unoccupied vehicles that had been struck with several rounds of gunfire. There were no injuries reported, police said.
According to witnesses, the suspect vehicle is described as a newer white Honda or Nissan or similar vehicle with four doors and a white and blue license plate. Police said there were three occupants, one of whom fired a handgun out the window, striking the aforementioned vehicles and house. The suspect vehicle then traveled south on S. San Lorenzo Avenue and east on Division Street out of view. Police located several spent shell casings on the street and bullet strikes to the vehicles and residence.
“Due to the nature of the crime, it is being investigated as a possible gang-related crime at this time,” police said.
Officers are also looking into another shooting that occurred Friday night in the area of Calcagno Street and Long Sing Avenue.
A report of gunshots heard in that area came in at about 8:12 p.m. on Oct. 20. Upon their arrival, officers conducted an area check and located the crime scene. No victims were found nor reported, police said.
