Norma Lee Holland passed away peacefully at the age of 87 with family by her side on January 17th, 2019 after a brief battle with an illness. Norma was preceded in death by her husband Albert Holland and her 10 brothers and sisters as well as both her parents.
She was born August 17th, 1931 in Tulsa, OK. She was the youngest of 11 children. She met the love of her life while working as a waitress in 1949. Norma simply said to Albert who at the time was delivering a sack of potatoes to the restaurant where she worked, “little boy, why don’t you come over here and I’ll buy you a cup of coffee?”
She married the love of her life Albert David Holland Jr. On August 29th, 1950 and they moved to California in 1957 and settled in King City in 1966. She is survived by her 3 children, Anna Tackel (Clarence), of Greenfield, Susie Frenzel (Kurt), of King City and David Holland (Paula), of Salinas. She is also survived by 3 grandsons as well as many nieces and nephews.
Norma was a hard worker and family was everything to her. We will remember with a smile that she always insisted on having a clean kitchen and would often times remind her loved ones of how important that was! She also loved to cook and always provided food for those that were sick and in need of a good meal. She and Albert became caregivers to others who in their later years needed help.
Norma was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1968. Norma always felt that learning the truth found in the Bible saved her life. She loved to go door to door and talk to people about the Bible often times inviting them to her home for pie and coffee.
We miss and love her very much and look forward to seeing her again in the resurrection in God’s new world.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 26th, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located at 251 Oak Ave, Greenfield, CA 93927.
