MONTEREY COUNTY — Four additional deaths related to Covid-19 were reported Saturday in Monterey County, bringing the countywide total to now 30.
According to the Monterey County Health Department, all four residents were adults, two of whom had “significant medical history.”
“It is a difficult report today,” the county said in a Facebook post Aug. 1. “… Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones.”
Nine residents have died from the respiratory disease in just over the past week.
Saturday’s report shows a total of 4,697 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Monterey County, an increase of 155 from the previous day. The total number of residents who have recovered is currently 2,849, up 69 from yesterday.
A cumulative total of 289 residents have been hospitalized due to the virus, 45 of whom are active hospitalizations with 15 in the intensive care unit (ICU), as of July 31.
