GREENFIELD — The Greenfield High School softball team held an award night last week to honor the players on the Lady Bruin and Lady Bruin JV teams. Varsity head coach Jesse Mercado and assistant Artie Carrillo presented awards and certificates to the varsity team and coaches Moe Moreno and Emmanuel Cortes presented certificates and awards to the JV players.
Receiving special team awards from the varsity team were Ariel Carrillo (Rookie of the Year); Janette Miranda (Silver Slugger); Andrea Pantoja (Diamond Award); Mayra Cortes (Gold Glove Award); and Cynthia Morales (Bruin Awards). JV special award winners were: Paula Sanchez (Bruin Award); Elizabeth Avalos (MVP); and Jannel Campeon (Defensive Award).
