GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Lady Bruin softball team lost contests last week to the Pacific Grove Breakers and the Robert Louis Stevenson Pirates and are now 1-3 in the Mission Trail Athletic League.

At Pacific Grove, the Breakers had only one hit in a 29-0 setback. Eight Breakers had two or more hits against Greenfield. Last Thursday at Stevenson the Lady Bruins were beaten 19-11 against the Pirates. Ivonne Pantoja was a standout for Greenfield.

The Greenfield JV team suffered their second loss of the league by a 6-4 score. Aligha Ramey was praised for her work as a pitcher and had a no-hitter until the fifth inning when the Breakers scored two runs. Greenfield fell behind but was able to tie the score before Pacific Grove added a few more runs.

At Stevenson Greenfield beat the Pirates 23-0 as Elizabeth Avalos hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the third and Janel Compean added a two-run RBI to pad the lead.

Greenfield will travel to Monterey tomorrow for a game with the Santa Catalina Cougars.
