KING CITY — A 15-year-old boy is recovering after being shot in the hand Sunday evening while walking home with his friend on Broadway Street, according to King City Police.

At about 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 19, officers responded to a report of a shooting at the trailer park at 935 Broadway St., where a male juvenile had been shot and subsequently taken to a local hospital by family members. Police said the investigation revealed that the victim and his friend were walking home from a local shopping center, and as they entered the trailer park an unknown subject began shooting at them from the entrance.

The victim was shot in the hand as he and the friend dove for cover, police said. Once the suspect fled, the two ran home.

Police do not have a description of the suspect at this time.

According to a witness, a newer model, dark-colored, four-door sedan was seen fleeing the area after the shooting. The vehicle was last seen traveling east on Broadway Street.

“The investigation is continuing,” police said.
