KING CITY — King City Police is asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect who shot a man after kidnapping and robbing him at gunpoint early Wednesday morning.

According to a news release, on Sept. 15 at about 1:15 a.m., Monterey County Sheriff’s Office requested that King City officers respond to the 43700 block of Metz Road, where deputies were investigating a shooting incident that had originated in King City.

The investigation determined the victim, while in the 100 block of River Drive, was contacted at gunpoint and driven to the Metz Road area, where he was robbed and subsequently shot.

Police said the victim was able to seek assistance at a residence after being shot. He was transported to Natividad Medical Center for treatment with non-life-threatening injuries.

“This investigation is ongoing and at this time no additional information will be released,” police said.
