KING CITY — As the school year wraps up, along with another year of high school softball, the King City Mustangs have handed out their awards for the season.

The following players received team awards:

  • Most Valuable Player: Malaya Carrillo
  • Silver Slugger Award: Julia Mendez
  • Coaches Award: Ava Aguilar
  • Golden Glove Award: Sage Flores
  • Lady Mustang Award: Kayla Tankersley
  • Rookie of the Year: Jocelyn Romero

Other than the team awards, many Lady Mustangs were recognized as all-leaguers. For the second straight year, King City Mustangs softball player Sage Flores was voted Best Defensive Player in the league.

Pacific Coast Athletic League (PCAL) selections were:

  • Best Defensive: Sage Flores
  • First Team All League: Malaya Carrillo, Julia Mendez, Sage Flores
  • Second Team All League: Ava Aguilar, Kayla Tankersley
  • Richard Chamberlain Sportsmanship Team: Lisa Villanueva
