Free Pet Food Bank distribution event set for Saturday in Greenfield

MONTEREY COUNTY — Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Monterey County is focused on keeping pets in their homes with their families during this difficult time.

To ensure safety and pet food for everyone who needs it, the Pet Food Bank hours are changing to Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. at the SPCA, 1002 Monterey-Salinas Highway, in Salinas, across from WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

In addition, the SPCA is offering a free touchless Pet Food Bank distribution this Saturday, May 30, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Patriot Park, 1351 Oak Ave., in Greenfield. Pet owners can come at that time to have at least two weeks of food safely loaded into their vehicle by SPCA team members.

All food is first come, first served, and completely free thanks to donors. More community distribution locations and dates will be announced soon.

“We gratefully accept any brand, any size, and food for any type of pet. Our Pet Food Bank is free to anyone in need, all thanks to you. With your help, we can keep pets with their families when they are needed most. You can truly make a difference for pets who need your help,” the SPCA said in a news release.
