Eleanor Dye-Schoon passed away on July 3rd at the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula. She was a long-time resident of King City.

Born in Hollister, CA on May 30, 1924, she was what has become to be known as one of the “greatest generation”. During the war years she worked at the Mesa Del Rey Airport where she met and eventually married Bill Dye.

During her residence in King City, her resume ranged from Disc Jockey at KRKC, to planning commission, city council and mayor.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her first husband Bill, her second husband Emil, a son Bill Dye Jr., and a daughter-in-law Chun Cha Kim Dye.

She is survived by her children, Wesley Craig Dye and Deborah Ann Dye, and a granddaughter Erryn Rose Dye.

Eleanor was active in Silver Kings and Queens as was generous with her time and effort supporting numerous charitable organizations.

The family would like to thank medical professionals at multiple Monterey County and Salinas Valley facilities who provided professional and compassionate care as Eleanor transitioned.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Eleanor prearranged final disposition with the Trident Society and a future interment and celebration of life is being planned and will be announced at a date to be determined.
