KING CITY — The Coastal League co-champion King City Lady Mustang softball team met one last final time for an awards night and team banquet last Thursday night in the high school cafeteria.

King City completed the league season in a tie at 7-4 with the Greenfield Lady Bruins and had an overall record of 8-8.

Head coach Joy Flores and assistants Britt Davis and Vanessa Partida joined the players and their parents were treated to a delicious meal prepared by Ana Camacho and Eliza Arreola.

After dinner concluded players were introduced individually and presented with athletic certificates of achievement and league championship certificates. Special team awards were presented to the following players: Megan Flores (Best Offensive Player); Julyssa Arreola (Coaches Award); Mikayla Davis (Best Defensive Player); Caroline Martinez (Most Improved); and Buddy Camacho (Mustang Award).

First-team All-Coastal League certificates and medals were given to Flores, Arreola, Davis, Martinez, and Camacho. Davis also received the Coastal League Pitcher of the Year Award.

Players on the champion Lady Mustang team were: Mikayla Davis, Ivy Hearne, Julyssa Arreola, MacKenzie Hearne, Brooke Tidwell, Megan Flores, Mari Cenobio, Buddy Camacho, Chelsey Lopez, Paola Garcia, Caroline Martinez, Elena Vasquez, and Kaili Holt.
