GREENFIELD — Authorities have arrested eight young men in connection with San Jose’s first homicide of 2025, all of whom have been linked to a gang based out of Greenfield.

Six of the suspects are residents of South Monterey County, including individuals from Greenfield, Soledad and King City.

According to the San Jose Police Department (SJPD), the homicide occurred on Jan. 11 at about 10:11 p.m. Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 3100 block of Loma Verde Drive and found an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim later died at a local hospital.

A months-long investigation led SJPD detectives to identify the suspects, all between the ages of 18 and 20, and determine that they were associated with a gang from Greenfield.

The suspects are:

  • Adrian Pineda-Juarez, 20, Greenfield
  • David Gomez-Moreno, 19, Soledad
  • Andre Novoa, 18, Greenfield
  • Damien Perea, 19, Sacramento
  • Diego Narez, 19, King City
  • Anthony Martinez, 19, Soledad
  • Eduardo Camacho-Hernandez, 20, Greenfield
  • Dario Botello, 19, Elverta

A coordinated, multi-agency operation involving more than a dozen law enforcement agencies — including Greenfield and King City police departments and Monterey County Sheriff’s Office — was carried out on April 2, resulting in the arrests and the execution of 14 residential search warrants. Several firearms were seized during the operation.

One of the suspects, Pineda-Juarez, was already in custody in Monterey County for a separate homicide case. He will face separate charges in Santa Clara County.

At a press conference Friday, San Jose Police Chief Paul Joseph addressed the larger implications of the case.

“This tragic but familiar evidence is yet another example of the rise in youth violence in our community and beyond,” Joseph said. “These young people embraced a world of violence that turned them into executioners for a cause that will never serve them. We cannot allow this to be the future of our young people — we will not let this be their legacy.”

The motive for the shooting is still under investigation. All eight suspects have been booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on murder charges.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the SJPD Homicide Unit or submit anonymous tips through Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers (408-947-STOP or siliconvalleycrimestoppers.org), with the possibility of a cash reward.
