KING CITY — Community Food Pantry of King City has announced that after a long wait it is again partnering with Goodwill Industries for another collection drive in April.
The Food Pantry is asking King City residents to bring new or gently used items, such as clothing, shoes, books, blankets, linens, curtains, dishes, kitchenware, bikes, DVDs, small kitchen appliances and all other general household items, to the Goodwill donation trailer. Volunteers cannot accept any furniture, beds, mattresses, large appliances or baby items, such as strollers or car seats.
The trailer will be parked at King City High School’s Broadway Street parking lot for two days, Saturday and Sunday, April 2 and 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
After being closed for two years due to the pandemic, the Food Pantry will reopen this spring and the donation drive will assist volunteers in refilling its empty shelves. For every trailer filled, Goodwill will donate $1,000 to the Food Pantry.
“This is a great time to start spring cleaning and clearing out those still useful, unwanted items while benefiting your local food pantry,” said organizer Peggy Keirn. “All funds raised stay in King City to assist our residents in need.”
