The Board of Directors of the King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture proudly endorses Measure P on the Nov. 3 ballot and encourages our community members to vote “Yes.”
Measure P proposes a modest half-cent increase to the local sales tax, bringing King City’s rate in line with most other cities throughout Monterey County. This investment will help ensure that our community continues moving forward by providing critical funding for essential city services and long-term stability.
Over the past decade, King City has made remarkable progress. Through the collaborative efforts of residents, businesses, community organizations and city leadership, our community has overcome significant challenges and worked hard to create a safer, stronger and more vibrant city. We are proud of how far we have come and believe it is important to continue building on that positive momentum.
Measure P represents an investment in four important priorities:
• Public Safety – Funding for gang prevention programs and additional police officers to help reduce crime and keep our neighborhoods safe.
• Fire Protection – Providing resources, equipment, and training for our dedicated volunteer fire department so they can continue serving our community effectively.
• Street and Infrastructure Improvements – Addressing needed repairs and maintenance to city streets and public infrastructure.
• Long-Term Financial Stability – Strengthening the City’s financial foundation to ensure reliable delivery of essential services for years to come.
The King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture represents a diverse and dedicated business community. While our members come from many different industries, we share a common commitment to a safe, thriving and prosperous King City. Strong public services, well-maintained infrastructure, and a secure environment benefit residents, businesses, employees and visitors alike.
The Chamber Board believes that supporting Measure P is a responsible step toward preserving the progress King City has achieved and creating new opportunities for future growth and success. We respectfully ask you to join us in voting “Yes” on Measure P.
