KING CITY — Vehicle exhaust caused five separate roadside fires Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Wildhorse Road and Highway 101, just south of King City.

CAL FIRE, with assistance from South Monterey County Fire Protection District, responded to the call about a vegetation fire in the area around 1 p.m. on May 31. Firefighters were able to contain the five spot fires to 2 acres around 2:30 p.m.

No injuries were reported.
