City streets will soon look a little brighter now that King City has partnered with Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) to install more than 100 new streetlights around town to enhance public safety and save energy.

Monterey County has been declared a ā€œDreamers County,ā€ one of the first counties in the nation to enact a resolution supporting the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, which grants a temporary reprieve from deportation for so-called ā€œDreamers,ā€ immigrants who were brought into the country as children by their parents.

King City ag teacher earns national recognition

King City High School agriculture teacher Lauren Peterson has been named this year’s Region 1 winner of the National Association of Agricultural Educators’ Outstanding Young Member Award.
