KING CITY — Team tryouts for the fall sports season at King City High School will begin take place on Friday, Aug. 4, for volleyball and football, and on Monday, Aug. 7, for the boys and girls cross country teams. King City High School is offering summer training programs to help prepare for tryouts but they are not required.
Students must have a completed physical and sport packet turned and signed before they can try out for sports teams at KCHS. Packets are available at the KCHS office for from school coaches.
Tryouts for the volleyball varsity and JV teams will begin at 3 p.m. on Aug. 4, continue to Saturday, Aug. 5, at 9 a.m., and will conclude on Monday, Aug. 7, at 3:15 p.m., if needed.
Football tryouts/practice begin on Friday, Aug. 4, at 3:30 p.m. Cross country tryouts/practice begin at 3:15 p.m. on Aug. 7. Runners can call Coach Cavanaugh for information regarding cross country at 805-305-3312.
In addition to the weights and conditioning programs for football players, the summer 7 on 7 Passing League will run from June 28-July 19. Games will take place at 5 p.m. every Wednesday.
King City High School provides 14 different sports over three seasons.
The fall season begins Aug. 4 and includes cross country, football, volleyball, and cheerleading.
The winter season begins on Oct. 30 and includes boys and girl basketball, boys and girls soccer, and wresting.
The final sport season is the spring season and sports include baseball, golf, softball, swimming, and track and field.
