KING CITY — After a disappointing opening loss to Soledad, the King City High Mustang swimmers racked up three straight wins.

The swimmers visited Watsonville, and despite the terrible weather, came away with wins against Watsonville and Anzar.

The girls scored a 88-54 win against Watsonville and a 73-53 win over Anzar. The girls won five out of six relays and took numerous first places.

Hayden Munoz took first place in the 200 Free (2:42.34) and the 100 Breast (1:38.29). Mia Lopez took first in the 200IM (3:04.56) and the 100 Back (1:32.72). Jocelyn Martinez took first in the 100 Fly (1:34.68), Mary Pozzi took first in the 100 Free (1:21.04), Nicole Maydon took first in the 500 Free (7:23.16) and Meagan Schwartzhoff took second in both the 200 Free and 50 Free.

The boys beat Watsonville 88-11 and Anzar 80-48.

Julian Alatorre took first in the 100 Free (1:06.00) and the 100 Breast (1:33.32). Andrew Diaz took place in the 500 Free (7:56.03), Dylan Wheeler took first in the 50 Free 30.07, Julien Torres took first in the 200 Free (2:21.12), Maximilliano Morales took first in the 100 Back (1:32.32).

Last Friday, the Lady Mustang beat Alisal 56-32, while the boys squeaked by Alisal 48-44. 

Meagan Schwartzhoff took first in the 100 Free (1:18.13). Mia Lopez took firsts in the 100 Breast (1:42.18) and the 200 Free (2:44.53). Nicole Maydon took first in the 100 Fly (1:26.96)  and the 100 Back (1:28.89). Hayden Munoz took first in the 50 Free (31.52) and the 500 Free (7:19.68).

The boys were led by first-place finishes by Dylan Wheeler in the 500 Free (6:59.00) and Andrew Diaz in the 100 Back (1:31.38). Maximilliano Morales took first in both the 100 Free (1:03.77) and the 200 Free (2:29.27), while Julian Alatorre took first in the 50 Free (27.95) and the 100 Fly (1:14.10).

The Mustang swimmers will next host North Salinas on Thursday, April 6, at 3:30 p.m.
