SOUTH COUNTY — The spring tour of the San Antonio Valley Historical Association is scheduled to feature the sites of historic schools in the Lockwood and Jolon areas on Saturday, April 13.

The public is invited to this free event.

The San Antonio Valley Historical Association has for many years hosted an outdoor spring event celebrating the heritage of the area. Guest speakers knowledgeable about the area and old photographs will be used to portray schools back more than 100 years.

The tour will begin at 10 a.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Jolon and is expected to last until 2 p.m. The group will visit three school sites and then end up at the Lockwood Community Center, the former home of San Antonio Union School, where a potluck picnic will be held.
