Lady Mustangs beat rival Spartans, 53-48
Trailing 14-12 on the road to Gonzales inspired the King City Lady Mustangs to toughen up defensively and keep the Spartans scoreless in the second quarter. Gonzales fell behind at the half, but kept the game close though King City prevailed, 53-48.
Hawks soar past Mustangs, 74-53
The size and speed of the Oakwood Hawks was too much for the host King City boys basketball team to overcome, as they lost 74-53 on Feb. 6 to the Morgan Hill based team.
Lady Aztecs tame Mustangs
Three players scored in double figures for Soledad High as they knocked King City out of a first place tie in the Mission Trail Athletic League with a 49-34 home victory on Jan. 31.

Lady Mustangs down league champs
The King City Lady Mustangs had two girls players score in double-figures and played solid defense to defeat the defending league champion Robert Louis Stevenson Pirates 51-47 last Tuesday in the Mustang gym.

In a battle for first place in the Mission Trail Athletic League, the Greenfield Lady Bruin soccer gained half a game on front running Pacific Collegiate as the teams finished in a 1-1 tie in last Thursdayās game in Greenfield.
Win streak continues for KC
Three straight league wins kept the King City Lady Mustang basketball team amongst the league leaders at 4-1 and in a second place tie with Soledad. King City won a home game 60-27 over the Gonzales Spartans, and beat the host Santa Catalina Cougars 57-14 on the road in Monterey.
