Trio qualifies for CCS finals

A trio of track and field athletes from Soledad, King City and Gonzales will represent their high schools and South County at Friday’s Central Coast Section Track and Field Championships at Gilroy High School.

Lady Mustangs celebrate softball title

The King City Lady Mustangs celebrated the season and its senior players with an intra-squad game between the varsity and JV players on Tuesday, May 8.

KC on the road for playoffs

Wins in the final week of play earned the King City Mustang baseball team a #12 seed in the Central Coast Section Division II playoffs that begin today. The Mustangs will start the playoffs on the road in a 3:30 p.m. game with the host Gilroy High Mustangs. Gilroy earned the #4 seed in the division.

Mustangs win last MTAL championship

A sixth straight championship also meant an end of an era for the King City boys track and field team. The Mustangs won the Mission Trail Athletic League in what was the last championship meet for them in the MTAL as next year King City, Gonzales, Greenfield and Soledad will be members of the Pacific Coast Athletic League.

Mustangs contending for spot in playoffs

This is playoff week as far as the King City Mustang baseball team is concerned as wins over the Carmel Padres at home and away will mean a spot in the Central Coast Section playoffs.

Lady Mustangs in first-place tie with Greenfield

Wins over Greenfield and Anzar gave the King City Lady Mustangs a 10-4 league record and in a first-place tie with the Lady Bruins in the Coastal League standings.

Mustangs win meet

The King City boys and girls track team took first place at the Thursday’s Daines Stireman Meet at War Memorial Stadium in King City.

King City wins 2 from Bruins

The King City Mustang baseball team swept the league series with Greenfield, defeating the Bruins by a 4-0 score at Greenfield and winning by a 6-5 score at home.

Lady Mustangs outscore Spartans, Warriors

The King City Lady Mustang softball team put on an offensive show by scoring tons of runs in lopsided wins over Gonzales and Trinity Christian.

Mustangs win frosh-soph title

The King City boys track and field team won nine events and scored 181 points at Thursday Mission Trail Athletic League frosh-soph championship at War Memorial Stadium.
