KING CITY — One person was injured Wednesday night following a shooting on Amherst Drive in King City.

According to the King City Police Department, local officers responded to a call shortly before 8 p.m. on Oct. 7 regarding a gunshot victim in the 1200 block of Amherst Drive.

The victim, who was suffering from a gunshot wound, was transported to Natividad Medical Center in Salinas for treatment. Their current condition was not immediately known.

Detectives from the South County Major Crimes Unit responded and continued the investigation into the assault. The suspect is unknown and remains at large.

“Evidence was processed at the scene regarding the case,” police said in a news release Thursday morning. “No further information is being released at this time.”
