SAN LUCAS — San Lucas Union School District hosted its annual Spelling Bee on Feb. 2.

Seventh-grader Josephine Mendenhall came out on top as the District Spelling Bee Champion and will represent San Lucas in the Monterey County Spelling Bee.

Second-grader Savannah Ruiz won the K-5 District Bee.
