LIBRARY PROGRAMS

MONTEREY COUNTY — Monterey County Free Libraries will host videos this week on its Facebook, Instagram and YouTube sites as part of the library’s virtual programs. MCFL encompasses the library branches within King City, Greenfield, Gonzales, Soledad, San Ardo and San Lucas. Today, Sept. 30, at 11:30 a.m. is family story time about bears. Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. is book chat. Oct. 2 at 11:30 a.m. is STEAM time. Oct. 3 at 11:30 a.m. is bilingual story time. In addition, a flashlight Fridays story time will take place on Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. and a mad scientist round of STEAM experiments will be held Oct. 3 at 2 p.m.


VIRTUAL BUSINESS

KING CITY — King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture will host its first virtual chamber luncheon on Oct. 1 at 12 p.m. The scheduled guest is Central Coast VNA with information about the flu season, flu vaccines and the existence of Covid-19 alongside the flu. Businesses interested in the luncheon can contact the Chamber for a Zoom link at 831-385-3814.


TERMITE FUMIGATION

GREENFIELD — Greenfield Fire Department will undergo fumigation this week after termites were discovered during roof repairs. On-duty crew will be relocated to Yanks RV Park temporarily while fumigation is completed at the fire station. This was noted not to cause delays in response service. In addition, GFD shared information that its new fire engine is undergoing final touches in Sacramento and will soon be delivered to Greenfield to begin service.
