MONTEREY COUNTY — California Highway Patrol and participating Monterey County law enforcement agencies will kick off a Click It or Ticket seat belt enforcement this week, from Nov. 15 through 21. The law enforcement agencies remind everyone that seat belts save lives. In an effort to spread the word about the importance of buckling up, the enforcement mobilization will team up with local police departments and other agencies throughout the county, meaning officers throughout the county will be extra watchful for seatbelt violations.

KING CITY — King City in Bloom will host a Fall Time Town-Wide Clean-Up on Nov. 21 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Participants will meet at the city hall parking lot to get their gloves and bags. They are asked to give 90 minutes of time to keep the town clean, with KCIB noting, “Town pride starts with you.” For information, contact [email protected].

GREENFIELD — Greenfield Community Science Workshop will host a bike repair workshop at its 45 El Camino Real location. The workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 21. Attendees will learn simple bike repairs, proper bike helmet fitting and rules of the road. For those without bikes, there will be old bikes to repair and fix to take. The event is highlighted for middle and high school-aged youth, and all Greenfield students are invited.
