FAITH AND BLUE

KING CITY — National Faith and Blue Weekend, a collaborative effort to build bridges and break biases, is planned for Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 8 and 9, in King City. Local law enforcement will join community members for a weekend of resolution and reconciliation. Saturday’s event will take place at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 504 N. Third St., with Ask an Officer from 8 to 9 p.m. Sunday’s event will be at First Baptist Church, 450 King St., beginning with a Meet and Greet at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Community Potluck from 6 to 7 p.m. Learn more at faithandblue.org.


CULTURAL CELEBRATION

GREENFIELD — A celebration of indigenous people will be held Sunday, Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Patriot Park, 1351 Oak Ave., in Greenfield. There will be music, dancing, food and crafts, in addition to a basketball tournament. For more information, call 831-204-2083.

SOLEDAD — New or gently used Halloween costumes are being sought to help local students in need this holiday. Donations may be dropped off at Jack Franscioni Elementary School, 779 Orchard Lane, in Soledad, during regular school hours. GREENFIELD — Monterey County Dance Foundation is celebrating 30 years of supporting youth dancers in South Monterey County this year by hosting A Toast to Dance, a fundraiser wine tasting at Scheid Vineyards in Greenfield on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. There will be music, dance demonstrations performed by the Monterey County Dance Theatre dancers, as well as a silent auction.
