MURAL PROGRAM

MONTEREY COUNTY — Arts Council for Monterey County’s Artist Spotlight returns with Kat Morgan on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 12 p.m. via Facebook Live. Morgan, a mural hunter, has located hundreds of local murals and is launching a new course on the murals of Monterey County. The live presentation will take place on facebook.com/arts4MC.


REDISTRICTING WORKSHOP

KING CITY — The City of King is hosting a special public workshop in the City Council Chambers on Saturday, Oct. 16, at 11 a.m. for residents to participate in forming the city council electoral districts for the next 10-year period. The City needs input to help make sure municipal elections are structured in the most fair and representative manner. Residents can participate in person or virtually by Zoom at bit.ly/3ogsZlR. After Oct. 9, residents can also access interactive maps on the City’s website kingcity.com to review relative data and find out where they live in draft district map alternatives.


SCIENCE OPENING

SALINAS — Salinas Community Science Workshop will host a grand opening on Oct. 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free event will feature slime, woodworking, rockets and exhibits. The new Salinas workshop is led by former Greenfield Community Science Workshop Co-Director Curt Gabrielson. The workshop is located at El Sausal Middle School, 1155 E. Alisal St., in Salinas.
