CHAMBER AWARDS

KING CITY — Nominations are due by Nov. 10 for King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture’s 2023 Citizen of the Year, Business of the Year, Friend of the Community and Hermie Robles Youth of the Year awards. SAFE ROUTES VOTING

KING CITY — Anyone who lives or works in King City, age 12 and older, can vote now through Sunday, Nov. 12, on which Safe Routes to School projects to recommend for funding and implementing to the King City Council. Through a participatory budgeting process, the community will help determine how to spend $250,000 allocated for safety improvements. LIBRARY CLOSURES

MONTEREY COUNTY — On Saturday, Nov. 11, all branch locations of Monterey County Free Libraries will be closed in honor of the Veterans Day holiday. The Administrative Office will be closed Friday, Nov. 10. All MCFL locations will be closed again on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 23 and 24, in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday. Branches will reopen on Saturday, Nov. 25. Online services are available 24/7 at MontereyCountyFreeLibraries.org.
