STORYTIME RETURNS

SOLEDAD — Monterey County Free Libraries’ Soledad Branch Library has announced the return of its weekly Storytime/Hora del Cuento, which will take place every Thursday at 4 p.m. Stories will be followed by fun activities suitable for children of all ages. The Soledad library is located at 401 Gabilan Drive.


RECYCLING EVENT

KING CITY — A King City Community Recycling Event will take place Saturday, Nov. 5, from 8 to 10:30 a.m. at the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds, 625 Division St., in King City. Accepted items include mattresses, appliances, yard waste, electronics, metals, furniture and tires. No commercial dumping or trash will be accepted.


POSTER CONTEST

MONTEREY COUNTY — Mee Memorial Healthcare System has launched a poster contest open to all South Monterey County public and private students, from kindergarten to 12th grade. Poster submissions should reflect the 2022 National Rural Health Day theme, “Driving Change: Going the Extra Mile.” Prizes will be awarded to individuals, as well as to classrooms, for first, second and third places. Winners will be announced on NRHD, this year observed on Thursday, Nov. 17. Students must send a photo or a PDF via email to [email protected] or through the U.S. mail to: 1320-B Main St., #235 Salinas, CA 93901-2109. Deadline for entries is Friday, Nov. 11.
