KING CITY — It’s time to start decorating a float for the King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture’s Lighted Christmas Parade, set for Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. in downtown King City. The theme this year is “Toy Trains and Candy Canes.” Santa will be at the Plaza after the parade, along with vendor booths and entertainment. MONTEREY COUNTY — Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC) is accepting nominations for its 22nd Annual Transportation Excellence Awards. The awards honor individuals, businesses, groups or programs and projects for their efforts to improve the transportation system in Monterey County. The one-page nomination form is due by noon on Dec. 1. The nomination form is available at tamcmonterey.org/transportation-excellence-awards. The award recipients will be honored during the regular TAMC Board meeting in January.
